For the last few days, I've been getting hits to my site from searches. The last 5 that have brought my site up:

1. Mature women posing with no clothes on
sorry bud, only immature women here.
2. Perverted Barbie Pictures
no, let's get that straight, it's Barbies TAKING perverted pictures.
3. Ditcher
Umm, yeah, but I'm straight, I can't "ditcher".
4. dooce sucks
I have it on good authority that I heart dooce
5. pee pee diaper
Yep, got lots of those around here. If you want one, I got dozens in the trash! They're free!

I'm soo not kidding you guys.

Happy Self Portrait Day!

I got this idea from Danielle. I've been achin' for spring to come, and it has not yet.

For crying out loud it snowed yesterday!

But I have cabin fever and I saw the sun shine today, which is the first time in quite a while, and I felt like spring was on it's way. I painted my toes and took a picture of the beautiful sunny, cloudy, blue sky and went on my way. I'll post a picture of that sky when I upload them later.

Thank goodness spring is (almost) here!

Jonah, Baby Bird
Thursday, April 28, 2005

As you know, for the last few weeks we've been feeding Jonah baby food. He's been learning so well and now he is able to "open, chomp, swallow, open". The last few days he's been able to keep the mess under control, with only a few spots here and there. He's a much more cleaner baby now.

When I ordered groceries for this week, I decided to go out on a limb. As usual, I bought bananas and sweet potatoes, but this week I also added something new to the menu: Green Beans.

Ew, I know, the bane of all children's existence: veggies. But I was willing to take a risk. "Risk taker" should be my middle name, what, with all the bungee jumping, sky coaster riding, and begging Andy for a gift certificate to sky dive and all. (ahem..anniversary coming in one month, sweetheart, you better get working on that PAPER to give me. ie gift certificate.) Anyway, where was I? Oh, yes. I took a risk. I wasn't sure how Jonah would like them since most children I have come across have an affliction to veggies. But oh, oh, do Andy and I not. Especially green beans. Those are our favorite veggies, and that says a lot. MMM mmm those sweet, succulant, tender, green, thin morsels of delectableness. Oh, there better be green beans in Heaven.

So last night we fed Jonah his green beans. At least all that we thought he would eat. He liked them. What we didn't know at the time was that he liked them A LOT.

A while later he started getting wiggly again. It was time to eat. I proped him up and began to try to feed him. He latched on, but about two minutes later he fell off, looked at me and smiled. And opened his mouth. I thought he was trying to sneeze at first. But then he kept doing it and I thought he was trying to yawn. And then I thought he was trying NOT to yawn. Then he looked at daddy and smiled and opened his mouth wide. We thought it was so cute. But he kept doing it, open, close, open, close, open, close. Finally Andy chirpped in, "Do you think he wants more green beans?"

[open, close, open close, open, wide, wider like a baby bird waiting for their mommy to drop some food in their mouths.]

What brilliance!

"I don't know, should I try more?"
"I don't know."

So I got up and got out the green beans. First, one tiny little spoonful from the package to see if that is what he wanted. Yep, sure enough. Then I spoon some into his bowl. He squirms with delight.
[open wide]

[spoon in food]

[chomp]

[open wide]

This pattern repeated for...I don't know how long, but he managed to eat more than half of the container! He usually only eats 1/4 of the container. My baby bird..boy...loves his green beans, just like mama and daddy!
